Valenzuela Fishing

Last Saturday, I went on a recon trip to Tagalag. I drove up to where the road ends and where good fishing begins, to Ka Totoy Llenados pond.

About the place
This pond was the venue for the second leg of the 1st Win Gatchalian Fishing Tournament. It is composed of two large ponds. One is bordered by the river that apparently leads to Manila Bay. Among the ponds in Coloong and Tagalag, this one has noticeable wider banks which make it ideal for family fishing.

How to get there
Drive past Coloong 1 and Coloong 2 and just follow the main flow of traffic and stay on the main road. After about 300 meters, you would pass a Pancit Restaurant to your right. Get ready as you need to turn right on the next street, which leads to Barangay Bisig and Tagalag. Just drive till you reach the end of the road, about 2 Kms. Park at the dead end.

Amenities and costs
I have not obtained prices of fish and cottages from the owner yet but I expect them to be same as what the other ponds charge.

Parking space is available near the pond entrance. However, this also means you have to walk about a 100 meters to get to the fishing area. I suggest you take this leisurely and just enjoy the refreshing breeze.
Bring your own bait too as bulate boys (earthworm vendors) don’t usually hang out near their entrance. A decent bathroom is also available, behind the big cottage.
